paula-and-the-orangutansSo here we are in Steamy Singapore and we are off to have breakfast with the Orangutan’s at the Singapore Day Zoo.

What fascinating creatures the Orangutan are. Everyone in the group has photos taken with them. And then we set off to look around the zoo.

The zoo is well designed and easy to navigate around, and there is lots to see.

We return to Singapore and go looking for cheap shopping, which weren’t to be found. However, we did manage to get lost while taking a so called short cut back to the hotel. We walked for ages over a hill, thinking to cut off a long walk around the base of the hill, only to get down the other side to find the area fenced off and locked. Much cursing ensued. Finally made our way back to the hotel very weary. Note to self – no more shortcuts.

Next day we go to visit the Indian district to buy handcrafts and have lunch. After lunch we catch the cable car from the Harbourfront tower 2, over to Sentosa Island. Which is well recognised by the statute of the Merlion, the Singapore tourism icon. Sentosa means peace and tranquility and that is exactly what the visitor experiences on this beautiful island with its lovely nature walks.

On our last night we visit the night zoo and this is a truly amazing experience. All the animals that sleep during the day, come out at night. So the one zoo gives you the total experience.
More to come.
