Canberra is in Bloom

Canberra is putting on its spring show and the trees are all begining to blossom now that spring is here.
One of the main September through to October attractions in the ACT is Floriade in Commonwealth Park. Over one million blooms are set out to create a theme that has been decided on by the organisers. This years theme is Aussie icons, myths and legends.
There are also cultural activities and events to keep the crowds entertained along with food and shops. Entrance to the event is free and Floriade is very popular with touring groups.
This is a picture of the Cherry blossom trees just outside of where I live.
Through the trees you can see the new subdivision that has taken place of our once beautiful park where the kangaroos and wombats lived. These animals have now been pushed further back into the hills so our local children are no longer able to experience them in their natural habitat.
In the background are the Brindibella’s which is a mountain range in NSW forms the western ranges running the length of the ACT from the north of the Kosiosko National Park to Brindabella. Tumut is a beautiful place on the way to Brindabella, where there are natural springs and caves for the more adventurous. Another perfect spot to visit is Talbingo.

I love the springtime when all the blossoms are out.
