Evening in Auckland

We went for a walk down to the Viaduct Grill in Quay St and had dinner. Val had roast lamb rump and I had lamb shanks, both meals were well cooked and tasty.
We stopped by the old Post Office building where I worked night shift as a young girl and where I stood on many occasions waiting for Val to pick me up after work. Val has never been one to place much store in time so over the years I have spent countless hours waiting for him to pick me up at various times.
Outside the post office used to be a pick up place for prostitutes so many a night I was propositioned which was very embarrassing for a young lady.
The picture is blurry but you get the idea.
The Post Office is now the Britomart Transit Station.
Across the road from the Transit Centre is a water fountain that intermittently shoots flames from the top.
We felt very safe walking around the city at night and there were a lot of other tourists out and about taking in the sights around the waterfront.
