Summer may be one of the most popular times to travel, but why not buck the trend and save yourself some money by choosing a perfect spring fling? If it’s sun you’re after, you’ll find there are plenty of countries that have plenty from March to May, and if you’re hoping for an adventure holiday, this could be the perfect time of year for you to get your thrills and spills.
Put a spring in your step by choosing a holiday that will leave you refreshed and invigorated.
Time for Thai?
Spring is a wonderful time to visit Thailand. Not only is it slightly less crowded than the summer, when it picks up plenty of holidaymakers and college students, but it can also be a very affordable destination for winter sun. Flights to Thailand, and in particular flights to Bangkok are never going to be as cheap as going to Spain or Portugal, but in spring there are definitely some bargains to be had.
Enjoy a wet season safari
When spring rolls around, Africa’s wet season kicks in. This means two things, firstly that the price drops, making this an affordable time to enjoy an unforgettable holiday experience. Secondly, you’ll be able to see some excellent sights you won’t be able to find during the peak season. For example, this is the ideal time to take in the Victoria Falls when they are at their most impressive, and you can also enjoy river safaris as well as land ones. Sunbathing won’t be an option, but the impressive wildlife of destinations such as Botswana, Kenya or South Africa is sure to more than make up for it.
Chill out by the Indian Ocean
If you’d like your spring holiday to offer you a little slice of summer, then be sure to choose a holiday where the sun will be shining strongly. Mauritius, Maldives and the Seychelles are perfect places to visit in spring, as although their weather is typically good all year round, it’s especially nice in spring and autumn. From sunbathing to water sports, you’ll also find there’s much more time for you to spread out, as most people will still visit during the summer months.
Skiing in the Alps
In spring, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the last of the year’s best weather for snow sports. Grab the chance and you’ll also be able to bag a better bargain, as prices in even the top skiing destinations tend to tumble in spring. Make sure that if you book a skiing holiday at this time of year you are prepared for the possibility that the snow might not be perfect, but you’re sure to find there’s plenty to be enjoyed in the Alps, including spectacular views, quaint cottages and cosy chalets. Of course, the cheap flights and accommodation are likely to help make the trip more than worth your while.
