There is so much to do and so much to see in Paris. The place is just a treasure trove of art, culture and magnificent architecture. We were wise enough to buy the museum passes before leaving Australia, so we had priority access to the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. Having the pass allowed us to walk past the very long queue of people waiting to get into the Louvre, we went straight to the head of the queue. Now we know how the celebrities feel when they can bypass the queues that stretch for blocks, and walk right to head…

More in Paris – The Louvre, Musee D’Orsay
OOH LA LA Magnifique Paris is Magnificent
To all you romantics out there – take our advice and visit Paris. We stayed at the Hôtel Louvre Saint-Romain which was a little hotel about 2 minutes walk from the Louvre. A great location in the city center at 5-7, Rue Saint Roch. The room was comfy and was decidedly larger than the one we had in London. Once we had dropped of our luggage, we set out to walk up the Champs-Élysées which is of course the most famous, fashionable street in Paris. There are cafes and luxury shops all the way up the avenue and it is…
Next stop…Paris via the Eurostar!
After a great few days in London we hopped on the Chunnel Train to Paris. The Eurostar was a must do experience for us. We wanted to travel through the channel tunnel so we weren’t too worried that it might be more expensive than a boat trip across. Wanda wasn’t particular keen on travelling by boat anyway due to sea sickness. The Eurostar was comfortable but unfortunately our seats were situated in a spot where we didn’t have a complete window view and the people in front of us who had the full view up and went to sleep as…
The London Eye
The London Eye is a great way to get a birds eye view of London. For those that don’t know, the London Eye is an observation ferris wheel. Unfortunately it was fairly overcast on the day we went on it … this is London after all…but we still got a great view of the city. The trip takes about 30 minutes and you are stuck in a capsule with about 20 other people but even so there is plenty of room to look out over London, to move around and to take plenty of photos of the view. Above is…
London here we come!!!
The day we arrived in London the temperature was over 30c so the trip to our hotel was a bit uncomfortable. Coming from Australia where the summers are hot, hot, hot means that everything is air conditioned so when you get into a mini-van in London with NO air conditioning with 10 other people on a really hot day and drive for two hours to get to you hotel you start to feel a little uncomfortable. Added to this is the fact that you have been sitting on a plane for 24 hours prior to this. The hotel itself was…
The Start of Our Fantastic Trip to Europe
In 2001, My friend Paula and I decided to go to Europe for a holiday. I had always wanted to go to Italy and especially Florence. However Paula convinced me that as we were going to be flying all the way from Australia, we should visit a few more place than just Florence. After the excitement of planning the trip, with the fabulous travel agent from American Express, we set off from Sydney to Singapore. What a pleasure it was to land in Singapore, the airport is just great with lots of beautiful orchid garden arrangements. The ladies that we…
