Entrance to Caesars Palace

For our last few days in Vegas we decided to stay at Caesars Palace. We had stayed here before on a previous visit but at that time we were given an upgraded room in the Forum Tower. This time, we were offered an upgrade for $50.00 but we declined and so we had a standard room in the Roman Tower. Check-in On check-in the guy checking us in tried to get us to upgrade to a better room for an extra $50 a night but since we had the upgraded room before and as we weren’t really all that impressed we declined…

Paris Hotel Las Vegas Review

Paris Hotel

After spending 6 nights at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, we moved up the Strip to the Paris hotel for 10 nights. It’s a bit of a hike up the strip, especially with luggage, and we arrive at the Paris ahead of check in time so it’s a pleasant surprise to find that our room is ready. We are in room 1902 which overlooks the carpark and out to the airport. The last time I stayed here I had a room overlooking the Bellagio and the fountain. And as fabulous as the fountain is I have to admit to being…

The Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas – Review

The Venetian Hotel Sign

WOW, what can I say but WOW….The Venetian in Las Vegas is one beautiful hotel. We stayed there last week and have to say that it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in so far. We actually got a great deal on this hotel through Expedia.com so we ended up staying there for 6 nights in total in a beautiful Bella Suite. Our first impression of this hotel when we checked in was OMG. The reception area is amazing with its frescoed ceilings, marble fountain, sparkling chandeliers and the accordion player leaning back against the fountain as he entertains…

Well I have to say that I am very pleased with the standard of the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel and thoroughly recommend this hotel when you have a stop over in Sydney. It is simply minutes from the airport and there is a shuttle provided to and from both the domestic and international terminals for $6.00 per person. I booked this hotel through HotelClub.com and it was self rated at 5 stars. I would say it is probably in keeping with a 4 star hotel. The check in service is quick and the staff friendly and efficient. The room…

After our stay at the Holiday Inn Express,Metrotown Burnaby for the Stargate convention we moved to downtown Vancouver for a couple of days. Since we have had great stays at all of the Holiday Inns we have stayed in so far, we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Vancouver Downtown, at 1110 Howe St. The cost for the 2 days was $104 for the first night and $137 for the second. We booked it a couple of days before we intended to leave Burnaby. Trying to save on yet another taxi fare, we decide to catch the Skytrain from…

Breakfast is provided by the Best Western Hotel so we were up early to make the most of this before heading out to take a look around. The Best Western Lamplighter Inn & Suites is in a good position if you have a car, which of course we don’t. So if you are like us and are relying on public transport, here are some instructions to help you get around. There are buses and the MT Trolley which will get you to all the main attractions, there is also a hop on, hop off sightseeing bus and the Old Town Trolley Tour – not to be confused…

While we were in San Francisco we decided to stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Francisco Fishermans Wharf (This hotel is not to be confused with the Holiday Inn Hotel – Fisherman’s Wharf which is right next door.) We actually got a great deal through Hotwire which included return airfares from Las Vegas and 5 nights accommodation for $376 each. This is the first time we have booked through Hotwire and the process was quite simple. The only drawback is that you don’t know your flight times until after you have booked and paid for the package. So…

We arrive at the front desk of the Golden Nugget and  queue for a couple of minutes before being called to the next available attendent. This lady (whose name escapes us but we think she is called Teri) proceeded to put us through one of the best check-in experiences during our US trip. She was an absolute delight to deal with showing a genuine interest in where we were from and she gave us all sorts of advice on what to see and do while we were staying in Downtown Las Vages. The lobby of the Golden Nugget Casino houses the largest…

As a treat, we decided to check into Caesars Palace for a couple of nights. We had walked through the hotel a number of times and just loved it so when we found a really cheap rate on their website for $150US per night for their spa package we decided to take it. The hotel is located in an absolutely prime position on The Strip. You really can’t get much better than this. Yesterday we checked in and it was an interesting experience. The gentleman at the front desk offered us an upgraded room. He told us it would be…
