We hadn’t booked anywhere to stay for the last 4 days so once we decided to stay in Vegas it was just a matter of hopping online and making a booking through Expedia. I opted for the Golden Nugget in Fremont St, simply because I love this hotel. The rooms are reasonably sized, the rates are really reasonable plus the service and housekeeping is excellent. The last time I stayed at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino I was in a room with two double beds as I was traveling with Paula, my friend and business partner. This time I am traveling…

Out and About in Las Vegas – The Fremont St Experience
One of my favorite places in Las Vegas is Fremont St. This is a happening place where every night there is exciting live entertainment and the fantastic Fremont St Experience – which is an awesome light and sound show. Although it is now easy to get to Fremont St from the Strip, now that the Deuce buses run to downtown, I still like to stay in the downtown area and usually stay at the Golden Nugget. This summer Fremont St is running the ‘Sounds of ’69 Vegas or Bust’ with live bands playing the music of the era. Which suits…
Out and About in Las Vegas – Cruising the Strip – Las Vegas Boulevard South
Okay in most of the previous posts I have managed to get really long winded. So in this one I am just going to quickly add photos of some of the stuff you will see cruising the Strip. Here is the Harley Davidson Cafe, haven’t eaten there so can’t comment on the food but I do like the sight of the Harley bursting through the wall. I checked online and the place has mixed reviews for both the food and the service so I guess it is a matter of going in and checking the place out for yourself. Next…
Attention Aussie Travellers – Pay No Booking Fees for Flights with Expedia.com.au
Who doesn’ t love to save money!!!! Nobody I know that’s for sure. Those of you who read this blog know that we generally book our travel online through expedia.com.au or expedia.com. Apart from the great deals and packages that they have available, their website is easy to navigate, and it doesn’t matter if I am booking a trip with multiple stops and only want to book a hotel for part of the trip, I can do it quickly and easily through Expedia. Now there is even more reason for Aussie travellers to put of that trip any longer –…
Out and About in Las Vegas – Cruising The Strip – The Las Vegas Plaza Complex
Las Vegas Plaza in Progress So after spending lots of time in Bellagio, we headed off down the strip to check out what else is on offer. Next to Bellagio there is an extremely large construction under way. This had only just started when Paula and I were here last year. This is to be the new Las Vegas Plaza complex. I was chatting to some locals who told me that Legal action was taken by the Plaza Hotel and Casino, Downtown for the right to keep the name. Bit of Trivia follows: The Plaza has been in Downtown Las Vegas…
Loving Las Vegas – What’s not to Love – Belissimo Bellagio
Before my first trip to Las Vegas last year with Paula, I had it in my mind that I probably wouldn’t like Las Vegas, that it would be crass and over the top. The only reason I came then was to attend the Shareasale Affiliate Marketing convention at the Rio. Well I came and was instantly captivated. I fell in love with Vegas, so when the opportunity arose for me to return this year with my husband, I jumped at the chance. I couldn’t wait to see his reaction to this larger than life, fun city. We navigated around quite…

Review: Paris Hotel and Casino Las Vegas
Having stayed in Paris, France and visited the Eiffel tower previously, I thought it would be nice to stay in the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as it is based on the French theme. Our Check in was smooth and hassle free, with the staff being very efficient and helpful. We are offered an upgrade which I decline saying I am sure all your rooms are great. We are given an upgrade anyway. Always remember this whether you are hiring a car or checking into a hotel, never take the offer of a paid upgrade. Hold out and…
An Eventful Flight Home From San Francisco to Sydney
The days starts out pretty ordinary, we have breakfast at the Terrace Cafe at El Rancho Best Western and then we go to the office to find out what there is to do in Millbrae until our shuttle at 7pm. It appears there isn’t anything to do where we are so, so we think we should go and drop off the bags and go back into San Francisco to spend a few hours. We get to the airport really early and Qantas doesn’t open until 6:45pm to take check in for our 10:40pm flight. Damn so here we are at…
