We found that the shopping in Singapore wasn’t all that great. Maybe we missed the best areas to buy from . But from what we saw the prices were pretty much the same as in Australia so there weren’t many bargains to be had. If you are looking for bargains go to Bangkok. The shops were huge though and there is plenty of browsing to be done.

Here are some photos taken in the Indian district. There are lots of shops with all sorts of great bargains and interesting items for sale. Because we were only starting out on our journey we had to keep our purchases to a minimum. There was a street vendor preparing takeaway food on the street corner. And our guide pointed out, what she called, Singapore’s national flag, which was the washing hanging from the windows. Looks like death approaching me in the background, all that’s missing is the scythe. The temple behind me is just amazing with its colors and intricate patterns.

So here we are in Steamy Singapore and we are off to have breakfast with the Orangutan’s at the Singapore Day Zoo. What fascinating creatures the Orangutan are. Everyone in the group has photos taken with them. And then we set off to look around the zoo. The zoo is well designed and easy to navigate around, and there is lots to see. We return to Singapore and go looking for cheap shopping, which weren’t to be found. However, we did manage to get lost while taking a so called short cut back to the hotel. We walked for ages...
