We decided to take the inland road back to Canberra. This meant driving up a very steep incline over the Great Dividing Range. Not far from the summit is a rest area, where we and a number of others stopped to take a break from drive and take in the spectacular views back over the valley. We decided to take the inland road back to Canberra. This meant a very steep climb up over the Great Dividing Range through the South East Forest National Park. We stopped just below the summit at a lookout area (as did a lot of other travellers). I think the lookout is just in the right spot for a break after such a daunting climb.
