The family have gathered in Fiji for a very special occasion, and the day of Seb & Lucia’s wedding has finally arrived. The air of excitement is palpable, you can positively feel the enthusiasm of the staff. Other guests at the resort ask if they can come to see Seb and Lucia are get married later in the day. We tell them that everyone is welcome to watch the ceremony.
The kids had been going to be married at the Hilton, but after a friend had suggested they check out Yatule Resort & Spa, they moved venues. This is a beautiful spot for a wedding. Lucia is a very organised young lady and she and her wedding planner Akeneta managed to get everything set up in record time. You can contact res@yatulefiji.com.fi if you would like to get married in a beautiful location in Fiji.
An American guest was telling Shaun that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend, and he thought it would be a great idea if the ceremony could be stopped half way through so that he could propose to her as she would be sure to say yes at such a moment. Shaun quickly nipped that idea in the bud.
Varinia had asked to be involved with decorating the reception area, so early in the morning Junior sent her off to gather fresh flowers. The flowers she gathered were added to the ones that the staff had also been busy gathering. The poles in the reception area were decorated with platted palm fronds and the flowers were poked in between the plaits. Varinia and Gerlinda, helped with the decorations and were shown how to do the plaiting, much to Varinia’s delight.
While all this activity was going on, the women were having their make-up and hair done by Neelma Singh from Salon 21 in Fiji. She really pampered everyone and did a great job.
And the groom set off to get ready as well.
Once everyone was beautifully made up it was getting close to the time for the ceremony to start. Neelma told us that if we got emotional we were to dab our eyes not rub. Not a problem we’re not an emotional bunch. (more on that later)
The officiating minister arrived and set about getting all the paperwork organised. He did a brilliant job, a really nice guy and very funny as well.
A little pre-ceremony drink for the groom’s girls, Seb’s sisters Ayla and Demelza. just a tipple to calm the nerves. They looked great and took their positions of getting the groom organised, very seriously. Everything went smoothly.
And a little monkeying around to relieve any pre-marital nerves.
Then the music began and Marta came in, looking just lovely.Well so much for not being emotional, I lost it. I also lost a fake eyelash that couldn’t take the waterworks deluge. So much for looking glamorous. I didn’t think it would affect me so much but seeing my wonderful grandson and his beautiful bride saying their vows was just overwhelming. And not only for me I might add. There was a lot of dabbing going on.
And then the moment we had been waiting for, Lucia came down the aisle on the arm of her father, Karlheinz.
The vows were spoken and rings exchanged. A beautiful ceremony in a beautiful location.
A gorgeous pre-ceremony photo of mother and daughter. Such a special moment in time.
The professional photos were taken by www.oceanstudiofiji.com and they took photos that encompassed the many wonderful memories of the day.
The after party ramped up as the sun went down and we were entertained by Junior and Rusi.
The food as always at Yatule, was both plentiful and delicious. Sorry I was too busy enjoying it to photograph it.
How Perfect Wanda
